16 Points to build Training in photography

Training in photography is one of the most important pillars of photography. This means the arrangement of the different elements to be photographed inside the scene, in a way in which the visual balance and coordination in the distribution of the elements and the rhythm meet, thus leaving the recipient with a strong and influential impression. Good image composition has several flexible rules that must be dealt with, highlighting the photographer's creative vision, and supporting the aesthetic value of the image.

Below are the most notable rules of training in photography

1.    The point of attraction or focus
To increase the quality of the images you intend to take, you must ensure that the main subject in the scene is carefully selected for its location. Where it is the point of interest or more that attracts the attention of the viewer, but not other elements of the image. This can be done in a variety of creative, artistic, and symbolic ways. For example size, color, shape, and how the main element contrasts with the rest of the elements in the image. Choosing where to put it in the composition, for example, the foreground, the middle of the background, or how it is isolated from the rest of the elements.

2.    Balance and arrangement
The arrangement of image elements has an important and effective effect on the viewer. It is necessary to achieve balance in colors, lighting, and distribution of elements within the composition. When we talk about balance in the picture. We mean the installation of optical elements in a comfortable and eye-catching manner. We all saw family or friends pictures, in which the subject is in the center of the image and the rest of the elements are devoid of any arrangement, except that they are within the composition. This traditional position completely lacks the distinct composition, we may see in most of this type of image, that there is a large area above their heads that weakens the formation of the image and the coordination of its elements.

The creative photographer is always keen on creating a variety and choosing a creative angle in his work. For an angle, for example: photographing from above to a child or cat, in such a case you would have got a different angle compared to if you carried the camera and took the picture from top to bottom. Angle and composition in photography as in any other art depends on your own vision and your desire to impart the image, and they certainly evolve with practice, study and most importantly of all this visual nutrition (watching and analyzing the work of senior photographers).

3.     Symmetry
Symmetry always pleases the eye. By producing the perfect balance in composition, as a reference for the center of the image, the visual weight is evenly distributed throughout the image.

4.     filled the scene
Sometimes, the scene is filled with the approximation of the object to be photographed, enabling us to attract the full attention of the viewer. By providing details of something we are not used to looking in this way, we can highlight textures, emphasize an idea or express emotions.

5.     Colors
A  good understanding of color theory is essential for any photographer. Knowing that there are harmonious and contrasting color groups gives you a greater idea of how to use them. Having a clear idea of the colors in photography will help you use them right and get a color-balanced picture.

6.     Space Rule
It is considered one of the most famous composition rules in photography. If we have an element that points to a particular entity, such as a look, or something that we know is moving in a particular direction, we must leave a place for it that indicates the direction of this element, otherwise, we will create a lot of tension and ambiguity in the composition.

7.     Negative space
Empty spaces can give a lot of play in literature. Provide contrast, geometry, and expression. For example an empty wall or a sky. They can give greater expression to composition.

How does contrast affect composition in photography?
Lighting contrast is another way to add an important dimension to an image and is an element of composition in photography. Contrast means the difference between high light and stray areas in an image. Dealing with this skill with skill, helps you get better depth or an image that simulates its dimensions. This is one of the biggest challenges for the photographer. You can also use contrast in shapes and sizes that will add more mystery to your photos. The geometric shapes create a kind of tension and dramatic tension in the image, and this has a profound effect on attracting the viewer and pausing in front of the image to read it technically.

Is the framing part of the composition in photography?
Framing is an artistic concept borrowed from the art of drawing, and it means that the photographer uses the frameworks in his surroundings, such as doors, windows, arches, and others within the composition, to isolate the subject further. The main key in using these frames is for the shapes and lines to be different and fall within the depth of field. The effect of this technique on composition in photography is to lead the viewer directly to what the photographer wants to focus on precisely.

How is the background isolated during formation in photography?
The composition in photography also depends on the depth of field, as the photographer can isolate the background or the foreground of the image and this visual feature enhances the composition of the image by isolating the main subject from everything that surrounds it. This is achieved by controlling the depth of field, which is affected by the aperture and the focal length between the subject and the lens. To master this technique, the exposure triangle must be well understood. A wide aperture between 1.4 and 2.8 works to reduce the depth of field as well as lenses with a long focal length, which helps us determine the element that we want to focus on and isolate the rest of the elements, to get the effect called bokeh.

8.     Rule of thirds
Among the most important rules of training in photography, we find the rule of the three, which is also a technique borrowed from the art of drawing, and it is possible to deviate from it and break it after perfecting it, of course, is to divide the training into three parts with two vertical lines and two horizontal lines. Where scientific studies have demonstrated that the points of the intersection of the four internal lines are the main focus points on which the human eye falls when you see work within a composition, whether it be a drawing, design, or image. So when you think about creating an image, try to place the main component on one of these four points to stimulate eye movement. This mode makes the background in a level outside the composition and focuses on the main component.

9.     Golden Ratio
An important rule in all fields. This percentage depends on engineering. It is a mathematical theory and its value is 1618. It measures the consistency between two elements, as it indicates that the two quantities in the golden ratio if their ratio is equal to the sum of both, divided by the largest. This rule is difficult to understand and apply, I will give you an explanation and definition of it, but if you really are interested you will have to go deeper in the search for larger information that explains in-depth the effect of the golden ratio on the composition in photography.

The balance based on a balance between the lengths is a secret followed by everyone who aims to perfection and creativity and gives a special beauty and elegance and draws attention, and the pursuit of man to reach a permanent measure of aesthetics (when discovering the golden ratio and discovering that it is a measure of everything that is attractive and beautiful and comfortable for the eye and it is a measure of the extent of the creative degree that The work falls into it) Find out that this ratio is amazing in everything around it in nature. Even living beings in nature, foremost among them human, are built-in their composition on an innovative basis and incomparable harmony between the composition of their body parts and a very large presence of the golden ratio when closely examining the various things around us.
In short, the golden ratio is not only confined to photography but is used in many fields and has been used since the ages in many civilizations, including: Pharaonic civilization, Greek civilization, Islamic civilization and even in the modern era.
Photography depends primarily on a wide sense of imagination and artistic taste, and if the golden ratio is applied in it will give imaginative impressions and will greatly express the feelings of the image. Some examples where the golden rule in photography is applied:

A- Golden Thirds:
Similar to the famous rule of thirds, but the dimensions are not completely equal, but are on the same scale (1: 618: 1). In this division, the location of the object to be photographed is determined. The most important element is exactly one of the four intersections of the lines.

B- Golden Triangles:
More suitable for slashes. There are fixed triangles, so the photographer places his bodies roughly along with those triangles and golden lines.

C- The golden twist:
There must be something in the picture that follows this golden twist and leads the eye toward the center.

1   The Angle
The perspective or angle of photography is the way in which a photographer sees objects in composition in photography. Each subject can have more than one angle: when photographed with a lens at the level of view or from the top or the level of the ground. When you diversify in the corner, you change the position of the horizon line in the image, as well as the effect this has on the scenes. When you take a shot and the lens is at ground level but at an angle directed upward until the formation fills with the subject, it will appear to be more powerful and larger than if the shot was at sight level. Therefore it is always advised to choose different camera positions to obtain an unfamiliar view of the human eye. Also, shooting from an angle from the top or what is called a bird's eye will change the dynamics of formation in your work.

How are guidelines guided during training in photography?
Sometimes the scene that we really want to film contains lines that direct our view. All you have to do is take advantage of them and get pictures that are able to take advantage of the environment, to make these lines lead the scenes for the element you want to focus on.

Does the simplicity of composition in photography have an additional value?
The simplicity of composition in photography increases the value of the image, we are all agreed that what is less and what is the best and most effective principle in many areas and photography is no exception. Images in which the formation is complex and difficult have the same effect when we read text from complex and complex sentences that are not easily understood. The simplicity we advocate here is to move away from the complexity and redundancies that distract the viewer and complicate his understanding of the context of work. While we find that the simplified composition helps to convey the message or intent of the idea in a comfortable and understandable way.

1   Diagonals
The line in the composition when diagonal gives tension to the image. Both triangles and diagonals provide a sense of perspective and movement. It is something we learned from Renaissance painters when they tried the Vanishing Point. If you want to master the use of diameters, you must be attentive to the things around you and use different perspectives in each of the shots you take to obtain different combinations.

In summary, training in photography is one of the essentials every photographer must understand from the start. All that we mentioned in this article are just useless words if you don't practice applying them. You will not understand it properly if you do not try to apply it. Try each day to apply one of them and you will notice that it is not as complicated as you think, except the golden ratio, so I consider it complicated and requires time and practice. The rest of the rules are easy to apply and will give your photos a very professional touch.
